Microchip manufacturer Save This Life is no longer a viable entity. If a pet with one of their chips is lost, there is presently no way to trace the microchip to the pet's owner.

If our records indicate your pet has a Save This Life microchip, we will contact you via text or email and direct you to this page. **The text alert message we sent only refers to one pet maximum. Please use the look-up tool below in case you have multiple pets that may be impacted**. The look-up tool only displays pets with Save This Life microchips. Pets that were microchipped with another manufacturer's chip and those without a microchip will NOT appear on the look-up table since no further action is required for those pets.

When a pet is registered after a microchip is implanted, this registration is performed through the chip's manufacturer. If a pet is lost and subsequently found, the manufacturer is the entity that acts to reunite the owner with their lost pet. Since Save This Life was a manufacturer, there is now no intermediary between the party locating the pet and the pet's registered owner.

Save This Life microchips start with either 991 or 900164. Ghent and Granby Vet has created a look-up table for our clients to see if your pet has one of these chips, and if so to provide the chip information to you for re-registration with another database. If you have our PetDesk app, the microchip information for your pets will be visible there as well.

The good news is that Save This Life microchips are UNIVERSAL, meaning that they can be re-registered. Please re-register your pet's microchip at one of the following locations as soon as possible. Please contact us if you have any questions or need any assistance.

  2. Free Registry Service at www.freepetchipregistry.com. This is a free database that is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. 

  3. PetLink at 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465) or Petlink Registration. Users can register Save This Life microchipped pets with petlink.net for $9.99 using the discount code: VEDCO.
