Our goal is to make your entire veterinary experience as low stress as possible — which includes welcoming you as a new patient. If you have any questions at all about becoming a new client/patient, please call or text us at 757-351-0167.
Ghent Vet presently has a limited number of new client appointments available. These are typically scheduled 3-4 weeks in advance, but we occasionally have cancellations and will reach out to see if new clients wish to come in sooner. It is very helpful if you can complete our appointment request form so we can reach out if we have cancellations and so we have your information on file to schedule a 1st visit.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Young Pet Or No Known Medical Issues
A simple vaccine history is perfect. This can be obtained by the reminder postcard you receive in the mail, a copy of your last invoice/receipt (usually the vaccine history will be printed at the bottom), or by requesting a copy from your current veterinarian. You can email these to [email protected] or text us pictures if the records are only a few pages. We prefer receiving records in advance of your appointment in case the medical staff needs to ask any clarifying questions to prepare for your appointment.
Pets With Medical Condition Or On Long Term Medication
If your animal has seen a specialist (for example: Internal Medicine, Oncology, Boarded Surgeon), we will need referral letters from your specialist, any lab work performed, and all vaccine history.
We will also need your records released to Ghent Veterinary Hospital to ensure the best possible medical care. Records can be emailed to us at [email protected]. If you have brief records, you can also text us pictures of them!
We are here to help! If you have any questions, please call or text 757-351-0167.
This applies if your animal has a medical condition or is on long term medication that requires blood work monitoring. We recommend that you request a copy of blood work done in the past 12 months, as well as your pet’s vaccine history, from your current veterinarian.
You will also need to request that your records be released to Ghent Veterinary Hospital so we can provide the best wellness care possible. These can be emailed to us or – if the previous provider is unable to email – faxed to us at 1-757-585-3626. We are here to help!
If you have any questions, please call or text 757-351-0167.
Pets Who Have Seen Specialists
If your animal has seen a specialist (for example: Internal Medicine, Oncology, Boarded Surgeon), we will need: a hard copy of blood work done in the past year, referral letters from your specialist, and all vaccine history. We will also need your records released to Ghent Veterinary Hospital to ensure the best possible medical care.
Records can be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 1-757-585-3626. The medical staff prefers to receive records in advance of your appointment just in case there is additional information required (e.g., radiographs or prescription information) as we prepare for your visit. You can also obtain a physical hard copy from your current veterinarian and bring this to your appointment. We are here to help! If you have any questions, please call 757-351-0167.
